Everest Region Trekking

The Everest region has been a mecca for hiking, trekking and climbing enthusiasts ever since Mount Everest was first ascended in 1953. Khumbu boasts of an airstrip in Lukla and two ancient Buddhist monasteries in Tengboche and Pangboche. This region is protected as the Sagarmatha National Park and in 1979 it was inscribed as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.
