Gone were the days when teachers deliver the same old lectures day after day. Now, teachers are expected to use fun classroom activities using technology.

Les ressources seront certainement à adapter (notamment abréger), mais le Guardian reste une valeur sûre pour ce qui est de la qualité du traitement des sujets : voilà une source de documents audio sur lesquels bâtir des compréhensions orales et autres activités !

The 'Preposition poster' has learners visualise different places and movements towards places, thus helping them locate people and actions in English. The poster does remind of classic -and effective- diagrams from ESL textbooks.

" "The printables encourage writing and thinking in a quick and fun way. A student's efforts to complete the printable can then become the first step in writing longer essays, poems or stories on the same subject. The printables also can be used with students enrolled in literacy and English-As-Second Language (ESL, ESOL) programs and provide an educational resource for teaching language arts."

This page from kaplaninternational website displays a series of 11 illustrations (infographics that might be used as posters and integrated in EFL lessons) such as the 'Food idioms' previous scoop (see http://sco.lt/88Yxbl ).

"http://kaplaninternational.com/blog/body-idioms-learn-english A brainfriendly resource. Creating an imaginary situation to contextualize the idiom, recording it with a script would make this resource really brainfriendly. One or several sentences examples are necessary to show how the idiom are used

Hope just this once won't hurt... This app can only be used on iProducts and won't do on any others -that's mainly why I usually avoid branding such resources. Some of these are real gems though and my soft spot for Shakespeare has got me to share this one with you ;o)

Parodies are an interesting way of working on traditional and classic literary works : school textbooks now have taken over the English teachers' suggestions and the web offers loads of documents that parody various tales. "Little Red Riding Hood" is one of the most commonly studied in France -yet, many others are also worked on...

The guy speaks pretty fast ;D ...but his speeches are most articulate and clear which -besides their social and historical interest- makes these audio files a good resource to train our EFL-ESL students' ears ! Enjoy :-) |

I've just discovered this in the 'Funny' category from http://themetapicture.com -it brightly illustrates a common English phonics rule... - - - - - - - - This will do a great poster to show how important stressing the right word(s) is in English ! Yet I'm surely changing the words -and try to find a more 'positive' fact to pin on the classroom walls. How about "I never saw her bring PokemonGo creatures in my class" ??? Nah, just kidding... :-}

Updated on 26 Feb., 2014 - - - - - - - - - - - I've just thought of asking every student to reorder the verbs in this chart (one page only -otherwise they might get lost), according to what they think is their own personal frequency of use. Then, they should create a sentence for the 5 most/least used ones : first they'd choose a topic, so that they might relate the 10 sentences with each other to create a (very) short story. Hmm... hope I'm being plain enough. Shall possibly refine the exercise instructions later on.

"Wear your heart on your sleeve" and "Fight fire with fire" are part of my favourite ones :-) - - - - - - Why not have your student choose theirs and then write a short paragraph to illustrate them ? Might either help build up a lesson plan or merely get you to... break the ice ;-) - - - - - - Also see :
