Although 3D printing is only a blip on most intellectual property (IP) lawyers’ radars right now, I envision a time in the not too distant future where this all will change. It’s safe to guess that there are under one million 3D printers in homes and offices today. La réalisation de fichiers 3D, reste actuellement indispensable pour la programmation d’usinages sur tous types de machines CNC. Faire ces fichiers 3D peut s’avérer compliqué et fastidieux, surtout quand nous voulons réaliser des formes complexes. Le scanner 3D paraît être une bonne alternative pour obtenir des ébauches de fichiers 3D, en partant de simples modelages avec de l’argile ou de la pâte à modeler. Nous pouvons également scanner des objets éxistants pour éventuellement les modifier, ou les répliquer.
