What such and such generations supposedly conveyed and said or acted like sound about as stupid and preconceived for Baby boomers as they have been, of late, for Gen Y. Gen Y = young now, old later. Baby boomers = used to be young, not anymore. Each generation acts according its age. Period.

Nevertheless, the portrayal of generations and their influence is interesting and often socially determining. One of the differences today is that older people are healthier and should they wish, why shouldn't they continue working, contributing? They have experience and often, are more up-to-date and energetic than their younger peers. Obviously that is a sweeping statement and needs to be put into context. It would be ideal if there weren't so much prejudice though.
