We know that in order to be female on this earth, we spend way more money than men to live because we live a few years longer, get paid less and spend more on healthcare, to the tune of $849,000 over a lifetime.

This bill does not protect doctors who lie or misinform patients. We can't expect doctors to be able to identify and predict 100% of birth defects. If you aren't willing to take the child that nature gives you, then adopt one of the many already born children who needs a home and fits your idea of the perfect child.

This bill is not about protecting doctors from the inability of science to see or identify birth defects; it fundamentally exists to pave the way to limit and restrict abortions. That is abundantly clear. And, should you be willing to accept facts, note that most women opting for abortions, including, but not limited to, those seeking to end pregnancies for a child with a birth defect -- those women do so not because they wish to defy nature or abhor it, but rather do so for the awareness that they cannot emotionally, physically, and (perhaps most painfully real) financially endure what they would be responsible for as a parent. These women know who would suffer the most in this society which abandons and judges so harshly -- the future child. AND, these people, despite their good judgement based on pragmatic self-awareness are the very same people who are least likely to be allowed to adopt in this country based on their soci-economic class. So your comments are both ill-informed and overly-simplistic.

I agree that it would have been more appropriate to protect the victom's privacy in this incident, but perhaps the thought was to put a real face on a tragedy that is happening in our country? I don't know Jill Stanek, but I respect her concern that women are dieing due to complications from abortions! We need to seriously consider regulations to the abortion providers that prevent this from happening again.

The only concern Jill Stanek has regarding "the complications women have from abortions" is that she believes these women do not suffer enough. It's not just that she doesn't want women to have abortions (I think that's a prayer every person has), but Stanek works to create a world in which no woman would be allowed to have one. Removing choice isn't just removing our fundamental right under the United States Constitution, it isn't just a matter of socio-economic class (i.e. the wealthy go elsewhere to get them), but taking away Choice is to work towards the death of more women. The next time some pro-lifer goes to vote that platform, they should accept the fact that they are voting for more women to die.

Why is an arts and crafts store responsible for selling birth control? This is right over my head as a Canadian. I would expect to buy birth control at the pharmacy, if I were using it.

The idiots don't want to provide health insurance coverage that covers birth control to their employees.

They must think it's a woman thing and men don't make babies. Not very well educated are they? But you should feel sorry for the men - they just have so little understanding of how sex works.

Women don't really matter. The law proves this to us constantly.
